Community status
GET https://benchmesh.online/api/v1/status - models with community reports: confirmed or issues, the BenchMesh versions they were reported on, and how many reports. The desktop app reads it once at start (BENCHMESH_ONLINE=off disables it, BENCHMESH_ONLINE_URL points it elsewhere).

}Instrument database
GET https://benchmesh.online/api/v1/instruments - every family (schema benchmesh.instruments/v1): vendor, models with their status, instrument classes with readings and settings, connections and notes. One family: /api/v1/instruments/<id>, e.g. rigol_dho800.
Latest release
GET https://benchmesh.online/api/v1/version - the latest BenchMesh release with every build (downloads), release notes and date. Optional: current=0.1.5 adds updateAvailable; platform=windows|linux|macos (with arch=x64|arm64, format=exe|appimage|…) adds the one download to offer. Ask this instead of GitHub: it is cached and shared, so installs never run into GitHub’s rate limit. On failure: HTTP 503 with releasesUrl.
The app’s local API
This page covers the website’s API. The desktop app has its own local API on http://127.0.0.1:57666 (instruments, recordings, automation; OpenAPI at /docs in the app) and an MCP endpoint for AI assistants: see Automation with flows and Connect AI assistants (MCP).
Caching and versions
Responses are cached for five minutes. The schema field names the format; a breaking change gets a new path (/api/v2).
